I’ve already written my Will. Do I need to have a new Will drawn up?

No. Your solicitor can add a codicil to your Will that lists all changes you wish to make to your original Will. Please see our codicil form for details.

I’d like to make a gift to The Harnhill Centre of Christian Healing in my Will. What information do I need to include?

Your solicitor can advise you on the correct wording. However, it helps if you can include our full name of The Harnhill Centre of Christian Healing, registered office address and registered charity number, as below:

I’d like to ensure that my legacy is used in a particular way. How do I do this?

If you want your gift to be used in a certain way – for a specific project or type of ministry – you can include this in your Will. However, please phrase this as a request, not a condition. If the conditions are stated too specifically (e.g. “for use in training people for prayer ministry”) and circumstances or the type of ministry at Harnhill changes, sadly we may not be able to use your gift.

Are there any tax benefits to leaving a legacy to The Harnhill Centre of Christian Healing?

Charities are generally exempt from inheritance tax on bequests made to them in Wills. However, please do discuss possible ways of minimising the tax burden on your estate with your solicitor.

Please note that the Gift Aid scheme does not apply to gifts in Wills.

Can Harnhill act as Executor of my Will?

No. Unfortunately we do not have the capacity or staff availability to be able to offer this service.
