The Harnhill Centre Team recently participated in a service with the Revd. John Swanton as part of the Worship At Home resources from the South Cotswold Team Ministry. The service was aired on Sunday 19th July 2020 and included readings, prayers and a word of encouragement from Revd. Kate Picot and some of the ministry team. What a privilege it was to share communion with the Harnhill Household and celebrate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ yesterday morning. The seven of us stood next to the beautiful old oak trees in the field and watched the sunrise, listening to the birds welcome the dawn. The Harnhill Centre has been delighted by the news of the recent engagement, and subsequent marriage, of Director Kate Picot to Kevin Derham. Once back from honeymoon, Kate will resume her leadership role and Kevin will also be helping out around the centre as and when his schedule allows. The photo shows the Harnhill team praying for the couple on the Friday prior to the wedding in March 2018. Congratulations Kevin and Kate! -

2017 was rounded off in style for guests and visitors at Harnhill with a special Christmas meal prepared by Head Chef Dan and served by Lunches co-ordinator Sarah and her team of volunteers. Friday lunches have been a great success in 2017. Served at lunchtime after the Friday Communion service, many visitors stay regularly for fellowship over food. In December Harnhill welcomed Christine Holzapfel to the full-time Ministry Team. Christine left full time parish ministry in Bromsgrove to join the team at Harnhill in December. She is married to Peter and they have three daughters and four grandchildren. Ordained in the Anglican church in 2007, she has previously been a full-time mother, teacher of religious studies and a manager with Methodist Homes for the Aged. On Thanksgiving Day this Autumn there was a celebration communion with Bishop John Perry. He spoke on Isaiah 43 and showed us how the Lord tells us not to fear; that we are known by name and we are all loved. The service was followed by a superb barbecue lunch prepared by Dan and his team. -

The Friends of Harnhill met in June for the second Annual Friends day since the Friends relaunch. Worship and prayer were central to the day, which included updates on the initiatives Friends are involved in and plans for future activities. It was also an opportunity for the Friends to get together socially, and the kitchen team were thanked for providing a superb barbecue meal. Harnhill wins 5-star rating for kitchen

The Harnhill Centre was recently awarded a five-star rating for its kitchen from Environmental Health. The rating is given according to how hygienically the food is handled – how it is prepared, cooked, re-heated, cooled and stored and temperatures controlled. Also under consideration in the award process is the condition of the kitchen, its cleanliness and layout, and the management of the kitchen with all aspects of food handling and safety in mind. Friday lunches at Harnhill

Community lunches at the Harnhill Centre have proved a great success over the year that they have been running. Participants receive a hot meal from a menu cooked on the day by our Head Chef Dan. Sarah Haslam is our Community Lunch Coordinator and together with a loyal team of volunteers she serves always the lunches (also including a dessert, usually yoghurt or fruit) with a welcome smile. The Harnhill Centre played host to its volunteers just before Christmas. The team and many of Harnhill's volunteers joined together for an evening of fellowship, carol singing and mince pies to celebrate Christmas, and also to say thank you to the many people who help out in various ways around the Centre throughout the year. The third Harnhill film evening went down well this Advent with about 40 people attending the viewing on the big screen in the Barn. The film shown was 'The Chronicles of Narnia - The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe'. We hope to be running another film night in 2017 - watch out for announcements. -
Second Harnhill Cookery week

Much more than just a bake-off session, Dan and Olly took guests through the A-Z of cookery in Harnhill's second cookery week in November. Taking over the Henly Room, guests were treated to a wide range of culinery tips from baking to butchery, and got to sample the results too. It's hoped now the cookery week is established that it will become a regular feature of the Harnhill calendar. Keep an eye open for programme updates -
